Um, Something Like That, Anyway.

Sox Fan
You scored 47 Bostonian points!

You've been here a while, and you know the intricacies of Boston life
fairly well. Like any true Bostonian, you both love and hate the place;
while there are some great things here, there's also another world out
there.
You've lived here long enough to know how to carry yourself. The
tourists on the Duck Tours amuse you. You understand why a five mile
trip on the subway can take an hour. You know the only place where you
can drink a Sam Adams and look at his grave. The Big Dig makes you
cringe, and you'd probably hate to take a car into the city itself.

Who Wants It?

Hey! As a reward for being a flickr pro member during their beta, they gave me two free flickr pro memberships to give to other people. So, who wants 'em? You must actually post photos to flickr, though.

You Are 55% Normal

(Somewhat Normal)

While some of your behavior is quite normal...

Other things you do are downright strange

You've got a little of your freak going on

But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself

And

Also covered by a young Bob Dylan; downloading now!

The internet: still amazing!

So, I really liked the music that was used over the credits of last night's episode of Deadwood (great episode, too). I only remembered a word or two (wrongly, it turns out), so searching on those words really failed miserably. I looked on some Deadwood forums but those are really, incredibly, annoying.

Then I looked on Google Groups (Usenet), and in the first page of results was a posting from the singer of the song! She gave a link to her site where I could listen to excerpts of the song ("Pretty Polly"), and in fact it's also on the iTunes Music Store so I could buy it if I wanted to! I also learned from the iTMS that it's quite a classic, having been covered by the Byrds, the Stanley Brothers, Judy Collins [!], Kristin Hersh (her version sucks), and some weird trip-hop version which also sucks.

Strange World

Power Puff Girls has been turned into a legitimate anime series in Japan: click! They're funny-lookin'.

Unfair.

You scored as Theo Epstein. Wait a minute, you're not a Red Sox player... you're Theo Epstein! Extremely smart and successful, you work the magic from behind the scenes. You take a lot of risks, but it always works out. You're not too bad on the eyes either!!

Good News/Bad News

Good news: I just used freecycle for the first time and got rid of the last of my ugly recliner chairs.
Bad news: Some religious lady took it!
Good news again: It was going to help an African immigrant who had only a bed and kitchen chairs in his house.
Bad news again: She doesn't know how she's getting it out of my house.

Explain

My coffee tastes like tea.

Now I Understand Where Tyler Durden Comes From

Wooo! Big party last night! Shame it was at my upstairs neighbors apartment, not mine. Honestly, people, doesn't it seem pretty self-apparent that you should not have the TV blaring out of your door at 2 in the morning? I know, I know, you're stoned and you want to watch TV on the deck. But this ain't San Francisco, jerks.
