I Heart John Hodgman

He's the author of this book which I believe I already mentioned (one of the few books that has made me laugh out loud basically the whole way through). He also appears on The Daily Show, where nobody knows quite what to make of him. If I were ever forced to become an on-screen talent, I'm afraid/glad it would turn out like him.

We Are All Getting Played

That was a crazy episode of The Sopranos. This season is amazing, each episode better than the last. It's really impressive.

Obviously I don't want to say anything because, I wouldn't want to read about it from some guy's blog either.

Money Well Spent!

So this year I decided to go to an accountant to do my taxes. Last year, when I was a freelancer all year, I made, honestly, a lot of money. And when you make a lot of money as a freelancer, you have to pay the government a lot of taxes. So I was worried about it, plus I don't really know how to do my taxes: in the past I have just used TurboTax and clicked wildly in random boxes until the number it spits out isn't in pesos.

I just got my return back from the accountant, and while I can't say I'm walking away with a refund (or even close) I do have enough money in my bank account to cover the bill, which was something I was really worrying about. Hurray! Steak dinners all around! $100 cigars lit with $50 cigars!

It is a great weight off of my shoulders and if any Portland-based freelancers are reading this I whole-heartedly endorse Nancy Gerber CPA!
